Daphne Utilities Water Reclamation Facility | Volkert Location: Daphne, AL Client: City of Daphne Utilities Board In 2008, Daphne Utilities began an effort to increase the capacity and efficiency of its water reclamation facility (WRF) while reducing the plant’s odor, noise, and cost. Volkert reviewed the facility and recommended and designed the improvements. Volkert performed extensive analysis of the existing unit processes and recommended several upgrades. The capacity limitations of the gravity outfall system were addressed first. Volkert performed detailed design and construction engineering and inspection services for capacity improvements, including installation of a three-pump system that operates during peak flow periods.
