CRICKLEPIT MILL, EXETER Architects: Gillespie Yunnie Main Contractor: Dean and Dyball Products installed: C40 acoustic flooring system Devon Wildlife Trust has had the dilapidated Cricklepit Mill site renovated and converted into its headquarters and a public wildlife information centre, with help from Exeter City Council, Exeter Canal and Quay Trust and English Heritage. A mill has been on the Cricklepit site since 1190 and part of the existing structure dates from a remodelling of the building in 1529. In recent years it was abandoned and fell into disrepair, suffering a fire in 1999 before it was decided to save Exeter’s last water mill.
