County Uses LiDAR Enforcement to Reduce Speeding in School Zones The Challenge Because Prince George’s County is nearly 500 square miles, has over 150 school zones and contains highly congested thoroughfares, as with any large county, they had a problem with speeding vehicles and pedestrian safety. The large area and significant traffic challenges required a portable and dependable speed enforcement solution that could be used on a variety of roadways and run for weeks without maintenance.
