The 108-acre facility was constructed in 2001 and is the only women’s correctional facility in the state. The prison houses up to 1,685 inmates and includes an intake center for male inmates en route to other facilities throughout the state. The legacy lighting system consisted of 109 perimeter poles with HID luminaires. Between HID lamp and ballast replacement and other maintenance projects, the facility experienced lighting outages, creating potential safety hazards.
