Containment at Littlebrook Power Station
www.bundlining.co.uk It was discovered that contaminated cooling water held in Lagoon 1B at Littlebrook Power Station in Kent was in danger of leaking through the joints in the structure and there was a significant risk of contaminating the ground water. Engineers from RWE-npower and their contractors decided that whilst the concrete structure itself was sound, the joints had deteriorated and required resealing securely. Due to the variable condition and dimensions of the joints, together with the fact that removal of the deteriorated sealant and oil contamination was totally impractical, if not impossible, the ideal solution was the Sikadur Combiflex System.
