Compact, Inexpensive Bearing Keeps the Presses Rolling
Compact, Inexpensive Bearing Keeps the Presses Rolling Nita Problem Nita is a Quebec-based manufacturer of high-quality transport and manipulation systems for large, rectangular lithographic printing plates. The plates are made of extremely soft aluminum and must be handled with care and precision as they are delivered, rotated, notched and fed into the printing press. Of course bearings are a key element in creating smooth shaft motion at both the shaft ends and at intermittently located pulleys and drive belts. Nita’s engineers knew they would face a hurdle finding a compact bearing that would handle their speed and service-life requirements. Solution One of Spyraflo’s standard bearings was a perfect solution. Our 0.625”-diameter, self-aligning needle-roller bearing easily managed the tr
