Case Study Customer profile The Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) ensures that London’s police are accountable for the services they provide to the capital’s citizens and its visitors. As such, it is responsible for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). The MPS is famed around the world and has a unique place in the history of policing. Founded by Sir Robert Peel in 1829, the original establishment of 1,000 officers policed the area within a seven-mile radius from Charing Cross, which had a population of less than two million.
