Case Study
Cleaning Media Recovery Conveyor
A local machine assembly company has a critical media cleaning operation as part of their overall quality assurance program. Media must be returned to the supply bins at a specific minimum rate, and be classified properly to eliminate oversized metallic and debris to prevent clogging the media nozzles. An existing vibratory conveyor was in place, and was causing excessive down time due to structural failures. - General Kinematics was asked to inspect the operation along with an independent consultant who was familiar with the metrics of the cleaning room. Following two field visits to study the process, a new conveyor was proposed to fit into an existing floor tunnel. Key points to address included overhead chute interface, spill seals, flow rates, and installation plans.
