Clark and Grand Hotels HOK designed a unique three-hotel complex in Chicago’s trendy River North neighborhood. Developed by Friedman Properties, the Clark and Grand Hotels project features separate hotels for three competing brands: Aloft Chicago City Center, Hyatt Place and the Fairfield Inn & Suites. The complex is on a block bounded by Clark Street, Grand Avenue, Dearborn Street and Illinois Street. To help give each hotel its own identity, HOK’s design provides three separate entrances. The exterior materials feature a combination of stone and glass systems that appeal to pedestrians at the ground level.
