BACKGROUND In December 2016, Green Frog Systems was successful in winning tender for the supply of GFS-200 Solar Street Lights, to provide all year-round lighting for suburbs within the township of Karratha. This included providing lighting to the suburbs of Bulgarra, Millars Well, Nickol and Pegs Creek. The township of Karratha has some of the highest cyclonic winds in the nation, therefore it was required that the lighting was designed to withstand Australia’s highest wind speeds of over 260km/h. It was also important that the systems provided superior security to prevent unauthorised access to batteries/controllers.
