Citizen Potawatomi Nation protects its data—and heritage— with Cohesity FortKnox and AWS
Citizen Potawatomi Nation (CPN), a federally recognized Native American tribe with around 38,000 members, relies on dependable data access to deliver essential government services, support tribal enterprises, and preserve its cultural heritage and language. To enhance protection against rising ransomware threats, CPN adopted a layered data protection strategy using Cohesity solutions: one copy of data is maintained onsite with Cohesity DataProtect, and another copy is securely stored offsite on Amazon Web Services (AWS) via Cohesity FortKnox. This approach aligns with the government-recommended 3-2-1 backup rule, ensuring three copies of important data on two types of media, with one copy offsite.
