These POs arrive from multiple sources, primarily as PDFs containing essential details like customer name, price, currency, total value, parts, and addresses. Manual data extraction from these varied PO formats was time-consuming, error-prone, and delayed sales processing. To address this, Ciena implemented Astera ReportMiner, which automated the extraction of unstructured data from PDF POs, reducing digitization time from one hour to two minutes and achieving a 15-fold increase in data extraction speed.
