This OEM was challenged with providing comfort heat in a passenger cars seating area. The application also required an extremely tight wattage tolerance in the design of the heater.- A strip heater was designed to be installed two per enclosure along the length of the seating area around the windows and along the walls on each side of the car. Thousands of strip heaters have been supplied to this OEM for incorporation into their passenger train car construction. Applications for strip heaters in the transportation industry encompass many other areas too, such as electric rail passenger cars, subway cars, people movers, and tram systems.
