Problem • Blockages in the reactor caused inefficient work, a longer production cycle, and a waste of energy. How SAM GUARD Helped • SAM GUARD identified issues due to a temperature increase. The reactor overheated material, and later blockages were formed. • Setpoints were changed according to the values learned from the triggered alerts. Value • The number of blockages decreased from ten in one quarter to only one blockage in a quarter. This was the best period on record in terms of (lack of) blockages. • For the one blockage that did occur, an alert was received from SAM GUARD, to mitigate it.
