It was established in 1981. CUT offers both classroom-based and distance learning, and it currently serves over 10,000 students. From an IT infrastructure perspective, and particularly in terms of its backup needs, CUT manages an environment of over 100 virtual machines running on 15 physical servers. There are also Oracle and SQL databases in production. For backup, CUT had been using Legato but was finding it too complex to manage and too expensive because of add-on licenses required for their Oracle and SQL.
