Intelligent LED lighting, water-cooled frames, extensive thermal mass harvesting from the concrete structure and the selection of ‘green guide’ finishes all contributed to it achieving an EPC rating of A for energy use. The scheme’s wellbeing strategy, meanwhile, considered air and water quality, acoustic performance, natural light, internal planting and external views of the countryside beyond the building.
