CASTLE VALE HAT High Rise Demolition Castle Vale Housing Action Trust - Birmingham January 2005 Demolition of 18 high rise accommodation blocks over a 5 year period (commencing in 2000) within the residential area of Castle Vale, Birmingham. The project involved the demolition of high rise buildings, utilising high reach machines. Strict control was required for the remote demolition techniques used on the demolition of the buildings; site boundary and dust control measures were also required to ensure protection to the local residents and pedestrians. The project was valued in excess of £9 million, and the work was carried out over a period of 5 years.
