Castle Square
Castle Square A 1100m2 development scheme consisting of sixteen flats and one house in the centre of Ludlow. The design overcame stringent planning restrictions to produce a modern but sensitive development which enhances the centre of Ludlow whilst retaining its commercial viability. The listed market place elevations were renovated with the infill building completing the composition. The building attempts to reconcile some of the inevitable contradictions that arise when ‘ancient’ sites are developed to fulfil modern requirements. The site occupies a prominent position within Castle Square, forming an essential part of the enclosure to the main urban square in Ludlow.
