Case study – Bendigo TAFE Bendigo TAFE delivers a wide variety of vocational courses to over 9,000 students a year across five campuses in central Victoria. Issue Shine On approached the TAFE and was asked to assess the lighting in their Charleston Road campus which specialises in trades, industrial and automotive. The TAFE was looking to make savings in the business and funding had become available for upgrade works, so an LED retrofit ticked both of their boxes. Solution Before recommending a solution, we undertook a number of lighting designs to ensure the light levels would exceed AS1680 requirements, particularly in the machinery-heavy classrooms. Using a combination of LED tubes, highbays and panels, the campus has managed to save 67% on their lighting energy consumption.
