CASE STUDY: BOYD GAMING Laundry Facility Earns LEED® Certifcation The Boyd Gaming laundry facility in Henderson, Nevada, processes approximately 48,000 pounds of laundry per day from the company’s nine Las Vegas properties. With loads increasing beyond the capability of its existing 100,000-square-foot processing warehouse, Boyd saw an opportunity to completely renovate the facility. The project’s sustainable design elements targeted resource conservation, employee health and comfort, and local economic development. The design process included energy modeling simulations to identify the most benefcial combination of energy- and water-saving strategies.
