BIOMASS CASE STUDY THE HEWETT SCHOOL The Hewett School is a large secondary school based in Norwich. They were the first in Norfolk to create a Foundation Trust to support their work on behalf of the students and the local community. As an Eco-School they are dedicated to lowering their carbon footprint and energy costs. The school were faced with the issue of very old gas boilers which were becoming increasingly unreliable. The cost of replacement for these gas boilers would have spiralled into hundreds of thousands of pounds which would have had to come out of their annual budget. Following a series of discussions with Evogreen, they realised that they were able to take advantage of Carbon Trust approved funding to allow them to install a carbon neutral 700kw Biomass Boiler system.
