Bemidji State University, Ever-Green Energy Starting in 2010, Bemidji State University (BSU) began work to develop their Climate Action Plan. In 2013, BSU hired LHB Engineering and Ever-Green Energy to conduct a biomass feasibility study for the campus energy program. This initial assessment found that biomass is available at a cost that is competitive with fossil fuels and could technically be integrated with BSU’s existing energy infrastructure. Moreover, the integration of biomass into BSU’s fuel mix would provide the opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase investments into the local economy, support the resurgence of the local biomass industry, broaden the base for environmental education, and diversify BSU’s fuel program.
