Bay of Bones Museum, Macedonia, 2011 Oak supportive poles Interesting Facts: • Reconstruction of a pre- historic settlement in Lake Ohrid, Macedonia. • Uvix Impregnation treated around 660 cubic metres of oak poles with TANALITH E to support the settlement platforms. • The oak poles replace what was believed to be 6000 original poles ranging between 13-30 cms in diameter. • In the original settlement, dating between 3500 and 500BC, dwellings built of timber, straw and reeds were erected on the platforms reaching up to 300 metres from the shoreline. www.archtp.com
