There had been widespread public concern that if the chimneys were demolished they would not be rebuilt. The reconstruction work on the whole site is highly visible from one of London’s busiest commuter rail routes and so the developers opted as part of their communications strategy to create London’s biggest bill-board on the West elevation of the Power Station.
