BAM Construction Group Birmingham City University
Birmingham City University required new laboratories and teaching spaces to allow the development and delivery of their new courses in health, nutrition, biomedical science and sport, to the City South Campus in Edgbaston. The new spaces would include a new lecture theatre, a multi-purpose hall, speech therapy, physiotherapy and ultrasound suites, art and technology classrooms and IT hubs. Robinson delivered extensive expertise in steel and fabrication to the University’s £41 million new building. Early introduction to the BAM design team meetings ensured Robinson was aware of and adhered to the the extremely tight site programme requirements, ensuring stringent co-ordination and management of various sectors of work within a limited space, whilst utilising a tower crane.
