The project Avens Bridge has some 2,000 vehicles cross it daily with lake trac moving underneath. The original bridge built in 1949 needed to be replaced and Case Foundation was brought in to install the deep foundation support. The challenge This project required drilling down into 90-foot-deep water o of a oating platform on the South Holston Lake. This was further complicated when the lake dropped 22-feet leaving the installed casing 30 feet above the water line, minimal water to oat the can on and only Avens Bridgesix inches of allowable verticality.
