Back in the late 1960s, ASU asked Filtrine to build water chilling, purifying and dispensing equipment for their cafeteria. In 2008, their facilities manager started looking for a water bottle filling station for their Student Union. Appalachian State University wanted to reduce the use of disposable water bottles with the goal of eliminating them altogether. Since Filtrine had built the first water bottle filling station in the early 1900’s, (see Drinking Water Solutions Update, March 22, 2016)
