While no active compromises were found, the Compromise Assessment uncovered over 2,000 unrelated security issues, including 13 critical external-facing asset flaws, outdated WAF rules, and exposed services. Unit 42’s use of tools like Cortex Xpanse and XDR enabled comprehensive threat hunting across ~55,000 endpoints and 4,000 domains. The assessment reassured stakeholders that no breach occurred, improved audit readiness, and significantly enhanced the retailer’s cybersecurity posture and visibility into its infrastructure.
