(BSP) planned to drill one of the most complex and deviated wells in BSP’s offshore Brunei development, with three “S” curves and a long horizontal section of approximately 5,000 m (16,404 ft). Drillstring challenges included reduced cantilever loading, high torque, high drag, high side force and potential casing wear. During the previous attempt to drill this section, the steel drillstring was lost.
