This was part of a nationwide programme to improve the environment for dementia patients. CUH secured funding in order to upgrade their facilities to make the environment less utilitarian and more homely as well as improving services such as medical gases, legionella prevention measures, nurse call provisions, improved internal lighting including scene setting and separate dining facilities.
