Given Thailand’s steady growth in the tourism and hospitality sector, hotels are amongst the highest consumers of energy. Much of the costs in a typical hotel comes from Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, which comprise between 25-50% of the total energy costs. In fact, the largest proportion of HVAC energy use is attributable to guestroom cooling, primarily as a result of the inefficient use of guestroom A/Cs by hotel guests.
