Case Study: RETAIL A Bright Idea Shines Light on a Quilt Store Judy and Michael Verret moved their retail shop, Arizona Quilts, into a new location in 2013. Built in the 1980s, the Surprise, AZ, building was outfitted with a mix of lighting fixtures and bulbs that resulted in an unevenly lit space. “In a quilt shop, we really need good lighting,” explains Michael, who describes the original lighting as a “mishmash.” BENEFITS The 4,000-square-foot store is filled with a colorful array of more than 7,000 bolts of fabrics and quilt samples draping nearly every wall.
