PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Formerly known as the Bank of America building, 777 Main Apartments is a 26-story mixed-use residential tower in downtown Hartford. Originally built in the 1960s as office space, $85 million was invested in a public- private partnership to convert the vacant tower into 285 one and two- bedroom apartments ranging in size from about 500-square-feet to nearly 1,000-square-feet. A critical element in the renovation was replacing dilapidated and otherwise unsafe concrete floors on each floor of the building. To complete this task, Viking Construction cut out sections of damaged concrete down to the rebar then patched the holes with 6,200 80 lb bags of QUIKRETE ® Maximum Yield Concrete.
