Grid failures are common place in many areas of Africa leading to regular disruption of vital services for telecoms providers. In this recent project, each transmitter has been fitted with a standby generator set with an enhanced fuel capacity and the ability to start automatically in the event of a grid power failure. The generator sets are extremely compact, allowing extra space for the larger fuel tank.
