CH2048 Location Alberta, Canada Problem A major North American operator needed to install new flowlines in the infrastructure of an existing gathering system for water injection, source water and future production. The installation required hard bends and had to cross six roads, four utility pipelines and nine gathering pipelines. Further complicating the problem was the onset of severe winter weather conditions. Solution The operator chose Fiberspar LinePipe over lined steel pipe. NOV Fiber Glass Systems installed 10.5 miles of 31/2” and 1.5 miles of 41/2” Series 1,500 LinePipe—a total of 37 lines in 24 rights-of-way—in this project in Alberta.
